Endings

I have a love-hate relationship with book endings. When I'm reading a book, I would be so caught up with finding out what happens next and how would it end that it becomes very very difficult to put the book down. When it does end (especially if it was a good book), I'll feel empty and sad, like I've lost a friend, and the next 15 min would be spent staring into the space going through the entire story in my head and maybe even thinking about what the characters are doing beyond the ending of the book. If it was a fantasy story like Harry Potter, Eragon or Lord of the Rings, I'll just start thinking about how boring the real world is compared those in the books with magic and dragons and immortal elves. The rest of the day would be spent in a melancholy state with good music and many attempts to find another good book to read. Is it like this for anyone else? Or is it just me?
