Prada Marfa is a permanently installed sculpture by artists Elmgreen and Dragset, situated about 60 km northwest of the city of Marfa. Resembling a Prada store, the installation's door is nonfunctional. On the front of the structure there are two large windows displaying actual Prada wares, shoes and handbags, picked out and provided by Miuccia Prada herself from the fall/winter 2005 collection.Labels: Art, Fashion

Taking a break from studying when I should be tucked away in bed. Living in hostel has made me appreciate things that I guess, as cliche as it might sound, most of us take for granted, home. Yes, it is crazy convenient, the place I live in is practically in school, just a few minutes walk away. But I can't tell you how much I envy my friends, to be able to go back home everyday, to home-cooked food, a fridge that will always be well-stocked, and the simplest thing, a room. Living in the hostel and sharing a room with 3 other people of the same age group may sound oh so exciting. Trust me, I was too. But the privacy, space, comfort is want I've come to crave and miss and almost on the border of hunger for. I'm sick of this environment, of cramp spaces, of shared toilets and bathrooms and of meals that are so unappetizing to me that it may be what's keeping me thin all this while. Of course, it's not all bad, I've learnt so much from this experience.. but that's for another day.
Sometimes it just the pleasure of knowing and being able to blast music out loud and walk around in your underwear.

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Have been busy with dance and preparing for Common Tests next week, which I am very worried for. I really hate disappointing my teachers, especially when they are all so nice and encouraging and I especially hate disappointing myself. So much for big dreams.Labels: Art, Musings, School

J.K. Rowling, your words are magic. I must agree that we need to stop being afraid of failing and stop stifling imagination. Videos like this are what's pushing me bit by bit to stay strong and focused this year.

The Gentlewomen is one of my favourite magazines.

Featuring ambitious journalism and photography of the highest quality, the magazine celebrates inspirational, international women through its distinctive combination of glamour, personality and warmth. The Gentlewoman offers a fresh and intelligent perspective on fashion that is focused on personal style – the way women actually look, think and dress."
These are some scans from their latest issue and I absolutely love the minimalistic feel that they were going for. Anyone knows where I can get my hands on it? I have always wanted to get a copy, but was never able to find it in the bookstores in Singapore. Will check out Kinokuniya and Basheer Graphic Books in the weekends.
By the way, I stumbled upon Basheer Graphic Books recently and it has become one of my favourite bookstore in Singapore. It sells absolutely fantastic books of all varieties and most of them are not sold anywhere else in Singapore. I always just spend my time in there marveling at the books and wishing I could buy everything. I managed to find so many fashion/ interior design/ illustration books on my wishlist and now it's just the matter of getting the money to purchase them. Oh well.. It's located at Bras Basah Complex, you should really check it out! It's an absolute dream.

I've always wanted to invest in some quality pj's but never got around to it. Mostly because it's always so hot here, it's better going to sleeping in an over-sized old t-shirt and shorts. These pj's from Pop-lin are incredibly lovely though, it would really make waking up every morning more exciting I think.
